Sleepyhead

The Sleepyhead is a mattress cover that creates a little tiny room for your head. The corner is held up by one stick that disappears under the mattress. What interests me about this design is how it looks at natural human behaviour and incorporates it into the design of the actual product.

L'uovo Floor Lamp

L'uovo, which is egg in Italian, is a floor lamp that enhances space. The large egg-shaped light brings focus to a room and the soft light emanating from the opal polyethylene resin adds a gentle and comfortable ambience to any setting. The L’uovo lamp is a fascinating lighting device as the shape is in the form of an egg yet it glows. This allows the user to be able to look at the light in another way possible as a glowing lifeform which needs constant attention.

HTC Dream

The HTC dream is a mobile phone which incorporates Google’s android operating system. What I like about this phone its how HTC allows the users to customize their own cellphones with the use of the android operating system which is open source and it looks at cellphones in a different manner as the manufacture no longer restricts how the phone will be used.
Only One Mixer

The Only One bathroom faucet was designed from the concept of how a joystick moves. Using this simple mechanism Lorenzo Damian is able to create an elegant yet functional faucet. The design of this faucet was intriguing as the design came simply from a toy which would never be placed near the bathroom. Yet this faucet design is intuitive to the user once they see it or touch it.

Suppenkaspar 2 legged table

The Suppenkaspar table is a table that is designed with 2 legs and 2 counter weights which keep the table in balance. It breaks the normal convention of how a table is designed and makes the user or the viewer of the table question whether or not it will actually stay stable enough to write on. What I find interesting is how a table as simple as this is able to make people question and thin about the conventions of a table and how it works. It brings simplicity and functionality into its design.
